A stunning rural setting, The Lakeside is the finest of our waterfront meadows, with unrestricted views across our serene lake and the lush, green countryside beyond. Wander hand in hand through the long-grass pathways, say 'I Do' under the blue skies at the lakefront, celebrate in style with your family and friends, and watch the sunset glisten across the water from the jetty. From festival to fairy-tale, countryside elegance to rustic romance, we nurture the beautiful backdrop for you to bring to life for your exclusive wedding or event.
At our exclusive, blank canvas location our unique offering provides an inclusive service package, as you’d expect to find at a traditional venue, without compromising the freedom to create your own unique wedding vision. You choose the format and size of canvas structure that suits your style; from romantic pole tents, to imposing nordic tipis, classic clearspan marquees and whimsical yurts; the choice truly is yours. At three acres our meadow provides sufficient space for your structures, lakefront ceremony, alfresco drinks and any extras you wish to accommodate. The farm has several rustic barns which provide a great backdrop to your professional photos, and with the ability to extend your event to adjoining meadows if required we can assure you that space won't be a constraint.
The practical things are important too - we provide luxury toilet facilities and power, festoon and fairy lights for practicality and ambience, a hardstanding car park where cars can be left overnight, a fully stocked and staffed bar service, and an experienced event coordinator to support you throughout your planning journey and ensure your day runs seamlessly. Working in partnership with the team at our destination pub, The Sun Inn, we craft bespoke menus for your daytime and evening food that align to your preference of cuisine, and support your drinks services too. Covering all the important on-the-day aspects of your wedding, let us take the weight off your shoulders and help make your wedding planning easy and enjoyable.

Stayovers
Whether it’s a bell tent glamping village, or your friends and family pitching their own tents or camper vans, they’re welcome here at The Lakeside.
Avoid the taxis and let your guests camp overnight for £350 for up to 15 tents. Shower units are available on request and we can also organise a hot and hearty breakfast for your guests the next morning, at the farm or at The Sun Inn.
If you prefer a little more luxury, we offer the perfect getting ready and wedding night accommodation at The Sun Inn, just a mile from The Lakeside.

Time to raise a glass and start planning your special day!
From canapés to BBQs, formal dining to street food, we would love to craft a bespoke, seasonal menu that allows you to enjoy the food you dream of eating on your special day, whilst ensuring it aligns to your budget. We provide everything required to cater outside, a food tasting and a full service team too.
We know that drinks are important too and we offer optional packages for your welcome drinks and table wine. If you want to provide your own daytime drinks that’s fine too; we offer the option to provide glassware and take care of chilling & serving your own supplied drinks for a service fee.
We might be a blank canvas venue but we’re not a dry hire. We we want to make your wedding as stress free as possible and are here to collaborate with you throughout your planning, providing hands-on support from our in-house wedding planner as part of our core package.
We’re also lucky to have The Sun Inn as part of our wider team which means we can offer you exclusive menus and flexible drinks packages. Working hand in hand the teams at The Lakeside and The Sun can will coordinate and manage all food, drink and service aspects of your wedding day.

All daytime catering is provided in-house by our very own exceptional team at The Sun Inn. They will craft you a bespoke wedding breakfast menu that we know you will love. We also have an extensive offering for evening food, but if you’d like to include a food truck or other external caterer for the evening they are welcome.

If you don’t want to take up one of our drinks packages you are welcome to provide your own reception drinks, table wine and toasting drinks, to be served until 6.30pm. We will manage this for you, providing glassware, chilling, serving and clearing, for a per head service fee.

We provide a fully stocked and staffed bar service to be setup inside your structure as part of our core venue package, subject to a minimum spend. You choose the physical bar counter to suit your wedding style, typically from your marquee provider, and we provide everything else. The bar can be open all day or just during the evening and card payments are accepted.

The majority of our couples hold a celebrant-led ceremony or blessing here at The Lakeside, it’s a truly breathtaking and unique location to make your vows. We don’t charge any extra for ceremonies. We are not licensed for legal ceremonies at present, many of our couples choose to undertake their legal paperwork in the weeks or days leading up to their wedding here.

The most important thing you will need to organise is a form of structure - a marquee, tipi or other form of canvas. Almost all of our couples use our preferred local supplier Funky Monkey (FM) Tents, who know our venue well and go above and beyond, but you are welcome to use the supplier of your choice. Your structure supplier can provide a package inclusive of flooring, lighting and furniture.
It’s then mainly about design - styling, prop hire, flowers and stationery - and entertainment. DJs and bands are both welcome.
We provide a planning guidance document and list of recommended suppliers when you book, plus our in-house wedding planner is on-hand to provide extra support and advice through your planning journey.

We love to party, but all good things must sadly come to an end. 11.30pm is the finish time for all of our weddings, when the bar closes and music must cease.

We are an animal friendly venue and love it when our couples include their four legged friends in their big day.
